Vikings fall to Trojans latePosted Friday, April 04, 2008 by David Newell In the opening game of the season West was got off to a good start. Dillon Bailey reached on a single to start the game and later scored when Robert Bailey reached first on an error. In the 3rd inning, East got their leadoff man on base with a walk who later scored on a base hit by P. Manual. In the 5th, East scored two more runs on RBI hits to take the lead 3-1. West then responded in the top of the 6th tying the game at 3 when Nick Frampton and TJ Kizis crossed the plate after Kevin Donovan grounded into a fielders choice and an error. East responded in the bottom of the 6th with 5 runs. Dillon Bailey pitched a very strong 4+ innings before giving way to Nathan Shollenberger and Zach LeBarron. Nathan Osgood did a nice job behind the plate working with the pitchers for all 7 innings. Bailey gave up 3 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 6. The pitching staff got some help with a strong defensive effort lead by Jeffrey Christian's 2 assists and Zach LeBarron's 3 putouts. Hits (west) - D. Bailey (2), N. Frampton, R.
