Tough Spring Break for the Vikings

During Spring Break Corning West went 0-2 losing at Horseheads and home against Southside. The Vikings played some competitve baseball in both games but were hurt largely by 1 or 2 innings in both games.

Against Horseheads the Vikings were only able to come through with 4 hits. Two from Nate Osgood and one each from Nate Shollenberger and TJ Kizis who also scored a run. Zach LeBarron drove in the only RBI. Kevin Donovan pitched a very strong first 5 innings for the Vikings giving up only 3 runs. Donovan exited in the middle of the 6th and was followed by Zach LeBarron.

The Vikings went back and forth with the Hornets from Southside until Southside took the lead for good in the 4th inning. The Vikings scored 6 in the bottom of the 7th but were not able to pull any closer.

Bright spots for the Vikings offense were:

Zach LeBarron - 3 hits, 3 RBI, double, run
Dillon Bailey - 2 hits, 2 RBI, 3 runs
Dalton Farrell - double, 2 RBI
Robert Bailey - hit, RBI, run
Will Madison - hit, RBI, 2 Runs
TJ Kizis - hit, run
Steve Ilnicki - run, RBI

Corning West Vikings will look to rebound and get in the win column this week. M - Vestal, W - at Owego, F - Binghamton
