Bats get hot in the 5th but Vikings lose to Ithaca 13-6Posted Tuesday, May 13, 2008 by David Newell Corning West stayed close for much of the game mounting a big rally in the 5th inning to make the score 8-5. Nate Shollenberger came through with a big bases clearing double with 2 outs to give the Vikings their first 3 runs of the game. That was followed by a RBI single from TJ Kizis and a RBI double by Nate Osgood. After that, the Vikings were only able to get one run. It was Shollenberger's 4th RBI of the game when Jeffrey Christian scored on a SAC fly. Dillon Bailey pitched 6.2 innings for the Vikings. Bailey kept the Vikings close against a strong hitting Ithaca team. Corning West also played pretty good defense, making many routine plays while adding a few very good plays. The play of the game came from Shollenberger when he threw a runner out at home plate from center field. Hits Next game - VS Horseheads Wed. 5/14 4:30 |
